The most common sleep disorders that we diagnose, and treat are Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), Insomnia, Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), Narcolepsy, and Parasomnias. However, Somnus Sleep Clinic can diagnose and treat the full spectrum of sleep disturbances.
Our professionals perform face-to-face evaluations lasting about 20-30 minutes to discuss your sleep issues. After evaluation, they present your options for treatment.
After you have met with one of our trained clinical staff and they determine which test you need, the test will be ordered. Typically, the test can be performed within a week.
Results are available in 1-2 weeks after the completion of the test.
On the day of your in-clinic sleep study, you should avoid the following: caffeine, naps, lotion, and makeup. We also ask that you eat before you arrive. Written instructions will be given to you at the time of your evaluation.
One of our trained clinical staff will prepare you on the day you pick up for our home sleep study.
Somnus Sleep Clinic offers a comprehensive inventory of sleep tests. Each sleep disorder requires different tests and Somnus Sleep Clinic is committed to diagnosing what is best for your situation. After your initial evaluation, our professionals will decide on the proper test.
Most insurances do not require a referral. If your insurance does require a referral, our friendly office staff can discuss that with you when you call to make your appointment.
All prescription medications can be taken the day of your sleep study except for any sleep aids. All sleep aids are to be brought with you to the sleep study.
There are many health risks resulting from not properly treating sleep apnea which include, but are not limited to, cardiovascular disease, stroke, hypertension, diabetes, weight gain, hyperactivity in children, mood and memory problems, and motor vehicle accidents.
